Three Years Too Long

Sometimes I think I should just take this blog down and replace it with STOP THE WAR over and over, in the biggest, blackest letters I can find.

Should I interpret the old saying 'love thy enemy' (pardon me if I've muffed it, but that's the gyst) to mean love Iraqis, for whom I have no animosity, or love George Bush and his posse?

I'm not the forgiving type. We thought 9/11 was bad, but people pulled together, and recognized it as an atrocity. I am waiting for the police, the National Guard, the Crossing Guards, for crissake, to come protect us from our government.

Three years during which our country gained nothing, and many, many people lost everything.

I have this image of every blog I visit replacing its text with Stop the War for a day -- like December's Day Without Art. If we can organize ourselves for a birthday, surely we could for a political statement. Wouldn't it be amazing?
